Almac Group Wins Export Achievement Award at the Pharma Industry Awards

Rhona Fitzgerald, Supply Chain Manager, and Karen Fahey, Research Chemist, receive the award on behalf of Almac Group from Mike Byrne, Chief Executive Officer, GS1 Ireland (category sponsor).

Almac Group, the Craigavon-headquartered global contract development and manufacturing organisation, has won the Export Achievement award at Ireland’s Pharma Industry Awards.

The award recognises the Group for an effective and rewarding export strategy which demonstrated commitment to expand its global business.

Since launching in 2014, the Pharma Industry Awards have recognised the successes and achievements of Ireland's pharmaceutical industry and are seen as the benchmark for excellence for those operating within the sector. The winners were revealed at a Gala Awards dinner on Thursday at The Clayton Hotel, Dublin.

An independent panel, which comprised 13 industry leaders, judged the entries and determined the winners based on a number of key attributes. Almac clearly demonstrated its effective and innovative Goods Distribution Practice (GDP) strategy, how it implemented an efficient, cost effective and environmentally responsible approach to exporting, how the company engages with suppliers and the efforts to increase brand awareness in international markets. It was one of 22 awards presented to Ireland’s laboratory industry.

Alan Armstrong, Chairman and CEO Almac Group, commented: “We are delighted to receive this recognition from the Pharma Industry Awards.  With 15 facilities and over 60 depots throughout the world, Almac continues to respond to industry demand by expanding our capacity and offer in-country expertise direct to our clients. This award is testament to the skill and innovation of our employees and we will continue to pride ourselves on our ability to provide high quality, flexible and innovative solutions to meet our global clients’ requirements.”
